There a time not so long ago when smoking was considered entirely acceptable in workplaces, on public transport, in parts of hospitals and even on passenger planes in flight (planes as late as 1998).

Hide...Older films commonly featured actors smoking (Sean Connery - James Bond for example), which of course reinforced the idea that smoking was cool and sophisticated.

How things have changed.

Medical studies have made reduction in smoking over time inevitable, and even the massive revenues governments received from taxation could not protect the tobacco companies from the growing necessity for change. Stop smoking hypnosis has become more popular than ever before as a method for increasing success. Using hypnosis to stop smoking is an inexensive way to increase the success rate either used alone or in combination with other methods.

The main reasons for stopping can be broken down into three main areas sections, health, financial and social. Whatever the reason, if you've decided you want to stop, hypnosis has been shown to be effective.

The study (a meta-analysis of over 600 separate studies) was undertaken by the University of Iowa, and published in the Journal of Applied Psychology. The study assessed a cross section of over 72,000 people across the globe who were in the process of quitting smoking. Surprisingly, willpower al0on fared badly as a method of stopping.
